The arrow for the launch party is aimed firmly at the end of 2025. Between now and then, a 7 month media campaign initiates the release of associated artwork and videos. The seeds of Sunlight, planted as Alone on the Moon was being released, has matured into a 7-year project. 12 Archetypes, selected and taken through The Creative Process, were forged into songs through contemplating the Tarot, the Zodiac, our 6 closest heavenly bodies, the Sun, the Indian Chakra System, Quantum mechanics and Ancient Egyptian Mythology. The inspiration for the album was then further explored through a variety of mediums resulting in live musical performances, paintings, headdresses and embroidery.
The recording began during the first global lockdown, in a home studio, and filmed in front of a green screen. From here, 8 music videos evolved that visually capture the exact moment that the audio was created.
Through painting our 5 closest planets along with the Sun and the Moon, Light was experienced in further detail. 3 of these paintings feature in The Alchemist music video in tribute to the awesome impact that these heavenly bodies have on the human experience.
Further tribute was paid to our ancestors through the creation of 3 headdresses for performance. Sunstones, Moonstones and Scarab beetle charms were blessed and threaded in their crafting to embody those stories that have been passed down from generation to generation.
The embroidery aspect, while it came as a vision early on in the project, was not initiated until 2024. As promised by the element of Fire, it brought a huge source of inspiration; it was realised a few months into its execution that we had moved into the Chinese New Year of the Dragon alongside a new found love for working with this medium. In addition, the promise of the initial vision for this did not disappoint; grabbing this talisman before heading off to perform brings with it additional inspiration, creativity and courage.

5 years ago I wrote a blog about this new album (see ‘Pioneer’) and also recorded some early versions of the tracks which you can see here :-
